My Story
From an early age, I was searching for ways to heal myself and face the hardships in my own health that arose from living in our modern culture. I became fascinated with biology and the natural sciences and ultimately found a way forward through natural medicine. While studying health sciences in the Pacific Northwest and working as an assistant in a pathology lab, I simultaneously dove headlong into the field of Mycology, studying and cultivating mushrooms that I used to help myself and those around me. In 2019 I founded Evolved Mushrooms as a way to support my community with holistic wellness and education specifically within the field of mycology, but have since expanded into herbal medicine as well. We've hosted large scale community events, local workshops and have developed unique herbal mushroom formulas for our clients that offer truly unique support. For over 6 years we have helped people overcome hardships within their health, and have focused intently on supporting our clients' mental wellness. We are intent on exploring unique extraction sciences to develop high quality and bioavailable products and work alongside a few wholesale leaders in connecting other businesses with resources. Our mission is to broaden the impact and awareness of natural medicine within the communities we're connected with and support the movement of returning to natural wellbeing and balance alongside the lessons we can learn from Nature.
Mushrooms have sturdy cell walls made of chitin and often have very woody texture. In order to make the medicinal compounds within mushrooms bioavailable, the cells walls must be broken so the compounds can be captured. Extracts in liquid and powder form have been shown to have much greater effectiveness than other products.

A tincture is a really beautiful way to work with natural medicine. You can get to know the medicine you're working with by site, taste and fairly immediate biofeedback. We craft our liquid extracts using organic cane alcohol, which is not only a carrier of alcohol-soluble compounds, but a very effective preservative. We aim for just enough to be effective at both without it being too overwhelming of a sensation.

Many of the mushroom products on the market are mycelium-based and are simply the mycelium grown on grain, such as rye and wheat. Because many people within the US have sensitivities to grain and because a higher majority of medicinal compounds are derived from the mushroom fruiting body as opposed to the mycelium, we work with 100% mushroom fruiting body extracts. Mycelium products on the market cannot really separate the mycelium from the grain, so a large percentage of what you're ingesting isn't actually the mushroom or mycelium.
